 into shooting days.

The screenplay is broken down into shooting days based on shooting locations, cast and other things to be considered. Thus a shooting schedule and budget are created.

Breakdown is a productional term. A polished screenplay is a prerequisite for sensible production planning. Based on the broken down screenplay it is possible to estimate the approximate amount of time and money needed in realizing the film.
