  1. A common term for different materials, especially concerning the final product. Various formats for the final film could be film (for example, 8 mm, 16 mm, 35 mm) and analog or digital video (for example, Betacam SP, Digital Betacam, DVC Pro, DVD).

  2. A common term for the aspect ratio of the film as it is filmed, or how it will be presented.
