An
audiovisual commercial made of the film. In contemporary productions
there are several kinds of trailers for different purposes.
"Teaser" is a short presentation (lasting usually
10 - 30 seconds), which is meant to activate the audience
and have them wait for, become interested in, or generally
be aware of the film.
The
actual trailer (lasting usually 30 - 120 seconds) is more
concrete than a "teaser", made to advertise and
market the film in movie theaters, television and nowadays
also in the net.
Nowadays
the so-called TV-versions are edited from the trailers. They
fall somewhere between a "teaser" and the actual
trailer.
