Brings something extra to picture or sound.

The term is used usually in picture effects; including traditional transition effects such as

or complex computer based digital effects

  • tricks
  • picture manipulation
  • morphing
  • light and color effects, etc.

As for sound, effect means something created by sound design, strengthening a visual detail in the picture or making it more concrete, for example.

  • a gun shot
  • blasts
  • sound of wind
  • jungle ambience or the surrounding sounds.
