Editing

  1. A junction of two separate pictures or sounds. For example, a short film including only two shots has only one junction, if the pictures are joined directly to one another and there is no other material in the film. See also "cut".

  2. General term for the procedure, where picture (and sound) are combined from the filmed (and recorded) materials into an entity.
