Style

The style of the film has to do with its genre. A film can be, for example, real-life, drama, comedy, fairytale or farce.

Nowadays the viewers are well aware of various styles. After seeing a few shots the viewer forms an idea of the style of the film and draws conclusions about its genre. A style that changes without motive is considered a mistake or a disturbance, and the entire film is considered incoherent.

On the other hand, a stylistic bouncing every now and then can be used as a conscious effect. In that case this bouncing can create a personal style for the film.
