Anton Chekhov (Анто́н Па́влович Че́хов) has said:
"If there is a rifle on the wall in the first act, it must be
shot with before the last act".
In the film, as well, there is no use presenting events or props
without a meaning.
Set up is used to present the elements to create dramatics into
the film. With visual or auditive set ups the events or things
are, in a way, charged with meanings having to do with the
story.
See
an example of "The Tough Ones" ("Häjyt"):
how the hearing aid is set up and redeemed
in the story.
