Theme

A film has to be able to provoke some kind of crucial question in the viewer's mind in the very beginning: the theme has to become evident early enough.

The theme can often be expressed as a question: Who committed the murder? Will the boy get the girl, or will the husband find out his wife's lover? What happens to love in a war?
